Joe Roberts Takes on The Great Tommy Sleep Out 2024: A Story of Compassion and Action

Here at PTC 360 Solutions, we're proud to highlight the remarkable efforts of our Technical Sales and Service Manager, Joe Roberts. Joe isn't just a dedicated team member; he's also a compassionate individual committed to making a positive difference in the world.

We’d like to share Joe's inspiring journey as he takes on The Great Tommy Sleep Out 2024 to raise funds and awareness for Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) and their mission to support homeless ex-servicemen and women.

Joe's initiative has already made significant strides, with £95 raised out of our £150 target, thanks to the support of 8 incredible backers. But for Joe, it's not just about reaching a monetary goal; it's about making a tangible impact on the lives of those who've served our country.

Every penny contributed to Joe's fundraising efforts goes towards providing safe housing and employment opportunities for over 6000 veterans currently facing homelessness in the UK. These individuals have sacrificed so much for our nation, and now it's our turn to give back and support them in their time of need.

On Friday 8th March Joe will be swapping his cosy bed for a sleeping bag outside, Joe aims to shed light on the harsh realities faced by homeless veterans. It's a small gesture compared to the challenges they endure daily, but it serves as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by those who've served our country.

If between now and the deadline (tomorrow – 29th February) he raises more than the £150 target he will stay out on the 9th also.

When asked about his motivation for supporting this cause, Joe shared a personal story. "I have friends who served, including one who was sent out to Bosnia," he explained. "He joined the army straight from school after being encouraged to do so. He suffered from PTSD as a result, and his life went downhill - with drugs, homelessness, and even facing jail time. His story is not unique."

The struggles faced by veterans fuels Joe’s passion for supporting organisations like RBLI, who provide vital support and practical assistance to those in need. "Many of us disagree with how war veterans are treated," Joe added. "This gives us a way to do something about it."

Joe's commitment to making a difference doesn't stop there. In addition to his efforts with RBLI, he's also a dedicated supporter of other causes close to his heart. For the past five years, Joe has been visiting a rescue dog centre, donating funds to help care for abandoned animals. His compassion even extends to his young daughter, who donated a portion of her Christmas money to the centre – she wants adopt all the dogs!

As Joe continues his journey to support those in need, we invite you to join us in rallying behind his cause. Click the link to donate and share this post to spread the word. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of homeless veterans and beyond. Thank you for your generosity and compassion!
